Deter Cats from Yard

One reader asked how to prevent cats from using her front yard as their own personal kitty litter box...Here are the replies we received:

Cat Deterrant - Orange Peels Faye in Manitoba, Canada wrote: "A friend told me recently to scatter cut up orange peels in garden areas you want cats to stay out of. I have been trying it for a couple of weeks & it seems to be working. Can’t hurt anyway!!" Citrus Peels and/or Essential Oils Leanne wrote: "For the lady having problems with cats in the flower bed, i read on another site that using citrus peels, (oranges and lemons) will work as well as used coffee grounds...i know that spraying lemon essential oil on the furniture kept the cat away from it for awhile LOL"
