Applesauce Cinnamon Dough

1/2 cup Applesauce
3/4 cup ground cinnamon
3 Tbsp white school glue
Extra cinnamon

Combine glue and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Add applesauce, stirring constantly until you have a stiff dough. You may not need all the applesauce or you may need a smidge more.

Remove dough onto the table and knead for 5 minutes until firm.

Let rest 30 minutes at room temperature.

Lay waxed paper out on the table.

Dust rolling pin with cinnamon and roll clay out on the waxed paper to about 1/8 inch thick.

Cut out with cookie cutters of your choice.

Poke a hole in the top (if you like) with a straw.

Leave in a warm, breezy location to dry for about 48 hours to 1 week. Turn over every 24 hours during the drying process. They smell wonderful


Bead Clay Recipe
Make fun beads that you can paint any design you like!

3/4 cup Flour
1/2 cup Salt
1/2 cup Cornstarch
warm water

In a bowl, mix flour, salt and water. Slowly mix in warm water until a dough is formed.

Knead 5 minutes until dough is firm.

Make beads by rolling the dough into balls and poking with a straw (big holes) or toothpick (small holes).

Let dry 48 hours.

Paint with acrylic or tempura paints (acrylic covers better, but doesn't come out of clothes


Kool-Aid Playdough

1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1 pkg unsweetened Kool-aid (just the dry koolaid, don't mix it into juice)
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil

In a bowl, mix flour, salt and kool-aid. Stir in water and oil Knead with hands for about 5 minutes. Store in ziploc bag for up to 2 months. Use like playdough. Smells wonderful and takes on the color of the koolaid.


Salt Glitter
Use it to add a touch of glitter to any of your craft projects.

1/4 cup salt
4 or 5 drops food coloring

In a bowl, mix salt and food coloring.

Spread salt in a thin layer on a plate and microwave 1 minute until mixture is dry (put a cup of water in the microwave with the plate to protect your microwave.

Store in a salt shaker, glitter shaker or old spice container. Shake onto arts and crafts projects like you would with glitter!


Scratch 'n' Sniff Painting

watercolor paints
craft glue
fruit flavor jello
paper
paintbrush

What You Do :
Draw a picture of fruit or flowers. You could use trace a picture from a coloring book. paint it with watercolors. Let it dry.

After your picture is dry spread craft glue a little at a time over the colored parts of your picture. Sprinkle fruit flavored jello over the wet glue.

Let your picture dry. The craft glue dries clear and you will be left with a sweet smelling picture.


Spray Chalk Recipe

4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cup warm water
4 to 6 drops food coloring

Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Pour into a small plant mister.

Shake before using to avoid clogs. You can use this to create designs on sidewalks, in the snow, or at the beach for colorful sand sculptures.
